About The Event
May Peace Prevail on Earth. Please join us for a Peace Pole workshop led by Claudia Fulshaw. Families, couples, individuals, etc. can work on a pole together. We will display the poles in the courtyard on World Communion Sunday, October 6, after which you can bring them home to display and enjoy.
Traditionally, Peace Poles have the words, "May Peace Prevail on Earth" written in a different language on each side. This movement was started after WWII by a Japanese philosopher and educator to spread peace throughout the world.
Instructions, inspiration, paints, brushes, and stencils are all included in the workshop fee, There will be a lunch break during the workshop, so participants should plan to pack a lunch or walk to Hillsborough Street for food. If you cannot stay the full 5 hours, no worries, we will have supplies set up in the Arts Ministry Room so you can come at your convenience and complete your project.
