Music

The Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir welcomes all voices and offers music in worship every Sunday in the 11:00 a.m. service. We rehearse on Thursdays from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. and warm up on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. A firm weekly commitment is not required; contact Jen Wolfe (jen@wrpc.org) for more information about how to get involved in this friendly and talented group!
The Sanctuary Strings
The Sanctuary Strings are a rotating group of singers and instrumentalists (guitar, bass, piano, banjo, mandolin, harmonica ...) who lead and present hymns and worship music outside classical styles. Think Avett Brothers, Wailin' Jennys, Sweet Honey in the Rock, Hank Williams. We rehearse (aka jam) most Thursdays from 6:00-6:45 and participate in church 2-3 Sundays a month.
Children's Music
Children have music time from 9:50-10:10 on Sunday mornings. They sing and play tone chimes and percussion instruments in worship music about once a month.
Special Projects
We have 5 octaves of handbells, brass/wind/string players, and a set of timpani -- all of which occasionally find their way into worship.
If you have a musical gift you’d like to share, contact Jen Wolfe (jen@wrpc.org) to talk about how to jump in here at West Raleigh!

Arts
The West Raleigh Arts Ministry affirms that all people embody the divine creative spirit. We seek to glorify God through studying, appreciating, and creating art that inspires worship, enhances education, and engages the community we serve.
Exhibitions
The Arts Ministry sponsors 3-6 exhibitions each year showcasing art by church members and local artists. Many exhibitions are accompanied by opening events, guided tours, and Q&A sessions with the artists.
There are 3 galleries at the church that feature art year-round, in addition to the seasonal exhibitions:
-
Voice of the Spirit Gallery (Fellowship Hall)
-
Abiding Art Gallery (first floor Elevator hallway)
-
Hospitality Gallery (Welcome Area outside of the Sanctuary)
