About The Event

The world, our country, our state and our city can feel unsteady especially in seasons of elections. We – as individuals, households and communities of faith – can feel anxious and worried especially in seasons of elections. One way to respond to these feelings is to connect with the foundations of our faith.

In October, we will be studying these foundations in a Wednesday evening Theology on Tap via Zoom. We will use “Foundations of Presbyterian Polity” – the “F” section of the Presbyterian Book of Order as our guide. Participants will be encouraged to read a portion of the F section before each gathering.

Each gathering will include:

  • a brief overview of the section and opportunities for questions, learning and discussion, and
  • time to consider how the evening’s reading might help us navigate unsteady times.

Schedule of Topics:

  • Oct. 2 - F-1.01 (God’s Mission) and F-1.02 ( Jesus Christ)
  • Oct. 9 – F-1.03 (The Calling of the Church) – this is a BIG section
  • Oct. 23 – F-1.04 (Openness to the Guidance of the Holy Spirit)
  • Oct. 30 – F-3.01-F-3.0108  (Historic Principles of Church Order)
